Jupyter Core is a package for the core common functionality of Jupyter projects. Jupyter Core prior to version 4.11.2 contains an arbitrary code execution vulnerability in `jupyter_core` that stems from `jupyter_core` executing untrusted files in CWD. This vulnerability allows one user to run code as another. Version 4.11.2 contains a patch for this issue. There are no known workarounds. • https://github.com/jupyter/jupyter_core/commit/1118c8ce01800cb689d51f655f5ccef19516e283 https://github.com/jupyter/jupyter_core/security/advisories/GHSA-m678-f26j-3hrp https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/11/msg00022.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/KKMP5OXXIX2QAUNVNJZ5UEQFKDYYJVBA https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/YIDN7JMLK6AOMBQI4QPSW4MBQGWQ5NIN https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202301-04 https:// • CWE-250: Execution with Unnecessary Privileges CWE-269: Improper Privilege Management CWE-427: Uncontrolled Search Path Element •

A vulnerability was found in vim and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is the function qf_update_buffer of the file quickfix.c of the component autocmd Handler. The manipulation leads to use after free. The attack may be launched remotely. Upgrading to version 9.0.0805 is able to address this issue. • http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2023/Jan/19 https://github.com/vim/vim/commit/d0fab10ed2a86698937e3c3fed2f10bd9bb5e731 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/11/msg00009.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/4JCW33NOLMELTTTDJH7WGDIFJZ5YEEMK https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/GTBVD4J2SKVSWK4VBN5JP5OEVK6GDS3N https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/JYEK5RNMH7MVQH6 • CWE-119: Improper Restriction of Operations within the Bounds of a Memory Buffer CWE-416: Use After Free •

In libexpat through 2.4.9, there is a use-after free caused by overeager destruction of a shared DTD in XML_ExternalEntityParserCreate in out-of-memory situations. En libexpat versiones hasta 2.4.9, se presenta un uso de memoria previamente liberada causado por la destrucción excesiva de un DTD compartido en XML_ExternalEntityParserCreate en situaciones fuera de memoria A use-after-free flaw was found in the Expat package, caused by destruction of a shared DTD in XML_ExternalEntityParserCreate in out-of-memory situations. GNU Libtasn1 before 4.19.0 has an ETYPE_OK off-by-one array size check that affects asn1_encode_simple_der. GNU Libtasn1 versiones anteriores a 4.19.0, presenta una comprobación de tamaño de matriz ETYPE_OK fuera de lugar que afecta a la función asn1_encode_simple_der An out-of-bounds read flaw was found in Libtasn1 due to an ETYPE_OK off-by-one error in the asn1_encode_simple_der() function. This flaw allows a remote attacker to pass specially crafted data or invalid values to the application, triggering an off-by-one error, corrupting the memory, and possibly performing a denial of service (DoS) attack. • https://bugs.gentoo.org/866237 https://gitlab.com/gnutls/libtasn1/-/commit/44a700d2051a666235748970c2df047ff207aeb5 https://gitlab.com/gnutls/libtasn1/-/issues/32 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2023/01/msg00003.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/AV4SHDJF2XLB4CUPTBPQQ6CLGZ5LKXPZ https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/ECM2ELTVRYV4BZ5L5GMIRQE27RFHPAQ6 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/pa • CWE-125: Out-of-bounds Read CWE-193: Off-by-one Error •

The Keccak XKCP SHA-3 reference implementation before fdc6fef has an integer overflow and resultant buffer overflow that allows attackers to execute arbitrary code or eliminate expected cryptographic properties. This occurs in the sponge function interface. The sponge function interface allows partial input data to be processed, and partial output to be produced. • https://csrc.nist.gov/projects/hash-functions/sha-3-project https://eprint.iacr.org/2023/331 https://github.com/XKCP/XKCP/security/advisories/GHSA-6w4m-2xhg-2658 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/10/msg00041.html https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/11/msg00000.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/3ALQ6BDDPX5HU5YBQOBMDVAA2TSGDKIJ https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org&# • CWE-190: Integer Overflow or Wraparound CWE-680: Integer Overflow to Buffer Overflow •
