CVE-2023-0160 – Possibility of deadlock in libbpf function sock_hash_delete_elem
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-0160
A deadlock flaw was found in the Linux kernel’s BPF subsystem. This flaw allows a local user to potentially crash the system. • https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-0160 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2159764 https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=ed17aa92dc56 https://lore.kernel.org/all/CABcoxUayum5oOqFMMqAeWuS8+EzojquSOSyDA3J_2omY=2EeAg@mail.gmail.com • CWE-667: Improper Locking CWE-833: Deadlock •
CVE-2023-38409 – kernel: fbcon: out-of-sync arrays in fbcon_mode_deleted due to wrong con2fb_map assignment
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-38409
An issue was discovered in set_con2fb_map in drivers/video/fbdev/core/fbcon.c in the Linux kernel before 6.2.12. Because an assignment occurs only for the first vc, the fbcon_registered_fb and fbcon_display arrays can be desynchronized in fbcon_mode_deleted (the con2fb_map points at the old fb_info). A memory corruption flaw was found in set_con2fb_map in drivers/video/fbdev/core/fbcon.c in the Framebuffer Console in the Linux kernel. This flaw allows a local attacker to crash the system, leading to a denial of service. • https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v6.x/ChangeLog-6.2.12 https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit?id=fffb0b52d5258554c645c966c6cbef7de50b851d https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-38409 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2230042 • CWE-129: Improper Validation of Array Index •
CVE-2023-37454
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-37454
An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel through 6.4.2. A crafted UDF filesystem image causes a use-after-free write operation in the udf_put_super and udf_close_lvid functions in fs/udf/super.c. NOTE: the suse.com reference has a different perspective about this. • https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=CVE-2023-37454 https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=6f861765464f43a71462d52026fbddfc858239a5 https://lore.kernel.org/all/00000000000056e02f05dfb6e11a%40google.com/T https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=26873a72980f8fa8bc55 https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=60864ed35b1073540d57 https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug? • CWE-416: Use After Free •
CVE-2023-37453 – kernel: usb: out-of-bounds read in read_descriptors
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-37453
An issue was discovered in the USB subsystem in the Linux kernel through 6.4.2. There is an out-of-bounds and crash in read_descriptors in drivers/usb/core/sysfs.c. An out-of-bounds read issue was found in the USB subsystem in the Linux kernel. This flaw allows a malicious user to crash the system, resulting in a denial of service condition. • https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=1e4c574225cc5a0553115e5eb5787d1474db5b0f https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=85d07c55621676d47d873d2749b88f783cd4d5a1 https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=de28e469da75359a2bb8cd8778b78aa64b1be1f4 https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=ff33299ec8bb80cdcc073ad9c506bd79bb2ed20b https://lore.kernel.org/all/000000000000c0ffe505fe86c9ca%40google.com/T htt • CWE-125: Out-of-bounds Read •
CVE-2023-35001 – Linux Kernel nftables Out-Of-Bounds Read/Write Vulnerability
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-35001
Linux Kernel nftables Out-Of-Bounds Read/Write Vulnerability; nft_byteorder poorly handled vm register contents when CAP_NET_ADMIN is in any user or network namespace Vulnerabilidad de Lectura/Escritura en nftables Fuera de los Límites del kernel de Linux; nft_byteorder administra incorrectamente los contenidos de registro de VM cuando CAP_NET_ADMIN está en cualquier espacio de nombres de usuario o red An out-of-bounds (OOB) memory access flaw was found in the Netfilter module in the Linux kernel's nft_byteorder_eval in net/netfilter/nft_byteorder.c. A bound check failure allows a local attacker with CAP_NET_ADMIN access to cause a local privilege escalation issue due to incorrect data alignment. This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of Linux Kernel. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the processing of nft chains. The issue results from incorrect pointer scaling, which can result in a memory access past the end of an array. • https://github.com/synacktiv/CVE-2023-35001 https://github.com/syedhafiz1234/nftables-oob-read-write-exploit-CVE-2023-35001- http://packetstormsecurity.com/files/173757/Kernel-Live-Patch-Security-Notice-LSN-0096-1.html http://packetstormsecurity.com/files/174577/Kernel-Live-Patch-Security-Notice-LSN-0097-1.html http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/07/05/3 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2023/08/msg00001.html https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2024/01/m • CWE-125: Out-of-bounds Read CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write •
