CVE-2021-22118 – spring-web: (re)creating the temporary storage directory could result in a privilege escalation within WebFlux application
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-22118
In Spring Framework, versions 5.2.x prior to 5.2.15 and versions 5.3.x prior to 5.3.7, a WebFlux application is vulnerable to a privilege escalation: by (re)creating the temporary storage directory, a locally authenticated malicious user can read or modify files that have been uploaded to the WebFlux application, or overwrite arbitrary files with multipart request data.
CVE-2021-33200 – kernel: out-of-bounds reads and writes due to enforcing incorrect limits for pointer arithmetic operations by BPF verifier
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-33200
kernel/bpf/verifier.c in the Linux kernel through 5.12.7 enforces incorrect limits for pointer arithmetic operations, aka CID-bb01a1bba579. This can be abused to perform out-of-bounds reads and writes in kernel memory, leading to local privilege escalation to root. In particular, there is a corner case where the off reg causes a masking direction change, which then results in an incorrect final aux->alu_limit. • https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=3d0220f6861d713213b015b582e9f21e5b28d2e0 https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=a7036191277f9fa68d92f2071ddc38c09b1e5ee5 https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=bb01a1bba579b4b1c5566af24d95f1767859771e https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/7LR3OKKPHIBGOMHN476CMLW2T7UG53QX https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.f • CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write •
CVE-2021-25217 – A buffer overrun in lease file parsing code can be used to exploit a common vulnerability shared by dhcpd and dhclient
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-25217
In ISC DHCP 4.1-ESV-R1 -> 4.1-ESV-R16, ISC DHCP 4.4.0 -> 4.4.2 (Other branches of ISC DHCP (i.e., releases in the 4.0.x series or lower and releases in the 4.3.x series) are beyond their End-of-Life (EOL) and no longer supported by ISC. From inspection it is clear that the defect is also present in releases from those series, but they have not been officially tested for the vulnerability), The outcome of encountering the defect while reading a lease that will trigger it varies, according to: the component being affected (i.e., dhclient or dhcpd) whether the package was built as a 32-bit or 64-bit binary whether the compiler flag -fstack-protection-strong was used when compiling In dhclient, ISC has not successfully reproduced the error on a 64-bit system. However, on a 32-bit system it is possible to cause dhclient to crash when reading an improper lease, which could cause network connectivity problems for an affected system due to the absence of a running DHCP client process. In dhcpd, when run in DHCPv4 or DHCPv6 mode: if the dhcpd server binary was built for a 32-bit architecture AND the -fstack-protection-strong flag was specified to the compiler, dhcpd may exit while parsing a lease file containing an objectionable lease, resulting in lack of service to clients. Additionally, the offending lease and the lease immediately following it in the lease database may be improperly deleted. if the dhcpd server binary was built for a 64-bit architecture OR if the -fstack-protection-strong compiler flag was NOT specified, the crash will not occur, but it is possible for the offending lease and the lease which immediately followed it to be improperly deleted. • http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/05/26/6 https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-406691.pdf https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-637483.pdf https://kb.isc.org/docs/cve-2021-25217 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2021/06/msg00002.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/5QI4DYC7J4BGHEW3NH4XHMWTHYC36UK4 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/ • CWE-119: Improper Restriction of Operations within the Bounds of a Memory Buffer •
CVE-2021-22901 – curl: Use-after-free in TLS session handling when using OpenSSL TLS backend
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-22901
curl 7.75.0 through 7.76.1 suffers from a use-after-free vulnerability resulting in already freed memory being used when a TLS 1.3 session ticket arrives over a connection. A malicious server can use this in rare unfortunate circumstances to potentially reach remote code execution in the client. When libcurl at run-time sets up support for TLS 1.3 session tickets on a connection using OpenSSL, it stores pointers to the transfer in-memory object for later retrieval when a session ticket arrives. If the connection is used by multiple transfers (like with a reused HTTP/1.1 connection or multiplexed HTTP/2 connection) that first transfer object might be freed before the new session is established on that connection and then the function will access a memory buffer that might be freed. When using that memory, libcurl might even call a function pointer in the object, making it possible for a remote code execution if the server could somehow manage to get crafted memory content into the correct place in memory. curl versiones 7.75.0 hasta 7.76.1 sufre de una vulnerabilidad de uso de la memoria previamente liberada que resulta en el uso de memoria ya liberada cuando un ticket de sesión TLS 1.3 llega a través de una conexión. • https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-389290.pdf https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-732250.pdf https://curl.se/docs/CVE-2021-22901.html https://github.com/curl/curl/commit/7f4a9a9b2a49547eae24d2e19bc5c346e9026479 https://hackerone.com/reports/1180380 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20210723-0001 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20210727-0007 https://www.oracle.com//security-alerts/cpujul2021.html https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpuapr2022. • CWE-416: Use After Free •
CVE-2021-3517 – libxml2: Heap-based buffer overflow in xmlEncodeEntitiesInternal() in entities.c
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-3517
There is a flaw in the xml entity encoding functionality of libxml2 in versions before 2.9.11. An attacker who is able to supply a crafted file to be processed by an application linked with the affected functionality of libxml2 could trigger an out-of-bounds read. The most likely impact of this flaw is to application availability, with some potential impact to confidentiality and integrity if an attacker is able to use memory information to further exploit the application. • https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1954232 https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/r58af02e294bd07f487e2c64ffc0a29b837db5600e33b6e698b9d696b%40%3Cissues.bookkeeper.apache.org%3E https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/rf4c02775860db415b4955778a131c2795223f61cb8c6a450893651e4%40%3Cissues.bookkeeper.apache.org%3E https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2021/05/msg00008.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/BZOMV5J4PMZAORVT64BKLV6YIZAFDGX6 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/pack • CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write •
