CVE-2023-4004 – Kernel: netfilter: use-after-free due to improper element removal in nft_pipapo_remove()
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-4004
A use-after-free flaw was found in the Linux kernel's netfilter in the way a user triggers the nft_pipapo_remove function with the element, without a NFT_SET_EXT_KEY_END. This issue could allow a local user to crash the system or potentially escalate their privileges on the system. • http://packetstormsecurity.com/files/175072/Kernel-Live-Patch-Security-Notice-LSN-0098-1.html http://packetstormsecurity.com/files/175963/Kernel-Live-Patch-Security-Notice-LSN-0099-1.html https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:4961 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:4962 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:4967 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:5069 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:5091 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:5093 https:// • CWE-416: Use After Free •
CVE-2023-3773 – Kernel: xfrm: out-of-bounds read of xfrma_mtimer_thresh nlattr
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-3773
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel’s IP framework for transforming packets (XFRM subsystem). This issue may allow a malicious user with CAP_NET_ADMIN privileges to cause a 4 byte out-of-bounds read of XFRMA_MTIMER_THRESH when parsing netlink attributes, leading to potential leakage of sensitive heap data to userspace. • https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:6583 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-3773 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2218944 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2023/10/msg00027.html https://www.debian.org/security/2023/dsa-5492 • CWE-125: Out-of-bounds Read •
CVE-2023-3772 – Kernel: xfrm: null pointer dereference in xfrm_update_ae_params()
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-3772
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel’s IP framework for transforming packets (XFRM subsystem). This issue may allow a malicious user with CAP_NET_ADMIN privileges to directly dereference a NULL pointer in xfrm_update_ae_params(), leading to a possible kernel crash and denial of service. • http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/08/10/1 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/08/10/3 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:6583 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:6901 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7077 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:0412 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:0575 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-3772 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2218943 https • CWE-476: NULL Pointer Dereference •
CVE-2023-3640 – Kernel: x86/mm: a per-cpu entry area leak was identified through the init_cea_offsets function when prefetchnta and prefetcht2 instructions being used for the per-cpu entry area mapping to the user space
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-3640
A possible unauthorized memory access flaw was found in the Linux kernel's cpu_entry_area mapping of X86 CPU data to memory, where a user may guess the location of exception stacks or other important data. Based on the previous CVE-2023-0597, the 'Randomize per-cpu entry area' feature was implemented in /arch/x86/mm/cpu_entry_area.c, which works through the init_cea_offsets() function when KASLR is enabled. However, despite this feature, there is still a risk of per-cpu entry area leaks. This issue could allow a local user to gain access to some important data with memory in an expected location and potentially escalate their privileges on the system. • https://github.com/pray77/CVE-2023-3640 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-3640 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2217523 • CWE-203: Observable Discrepancy •
CVE-2023-3750 – Libvirt: improper locking in virstoragepoolobjlistsearch may lead to denial of service
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-3750
A flaw was found in libvirt. The virStoragePoolObjListSearch function does not return a locked pool as expected, resulting in a race condition and denial of service when attempting to lock the same object from another thread. This issue could allow clients connecting to the read-only socket to crash the libvirt daemon. • https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:6409 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-3750 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2222210 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/EVK6JKP36CHE7YAFDJNPNLTW4OWJJ7TQ • CWE-667: Improper Locking •
