A race condition was addressed with improved state handling. This issue is fixed in watchOS 9.5, tvOS 16.5, macOS Ventura 13.4, iOS 15.7.6 and iPadOS 15.7.6, macOS Big Sur 11.7.7, macOS Monterey 12.6.6, iOS 16.5 and iPadOS 16.5. An app may be able to gain root privileges. This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of Apple macOS. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability.
