In this case, 'buf' is not properly filled. This patch fixes the issue by returning -ENODATA if usbnet_read_cmd() reads less bytes than requested. • https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/d0cad871703b898a442e4049c532ec39168e5b57 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/3e0af6eec1789fd11934164a7f4dbcad979855a4 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/2a36d9e2995c8c3c3f179aab1215a69cff06cbed https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/310f1c92f65ad905b7e81fe14de82d979ebbd825 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/30bc4d7aebe33904b0f2d3aad4b4a9c6029ad0c5 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/cda10784a176d7192f08ecb518f777a4e9575812 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/9ffc5018020fe646795a8dc1203224b8f776dc09 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/4931e80da9463b03bfe42be54a9a19f21 • CWE-252: Unchecked Return Value •

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv4, ipv6: Fix handling of transhdrlen in __ip{,6}_append_data() Including the transhdrlen in length is a problem when the packet is partially filled (e.g. something like send(MSG_MORE) happened previously) when appending to an IPv4 or IPv6 packet as we don't want to repeat the transport header or account for it twice. This can happen under some circumstances, such as splicing into an L2TP socket. The symptom observed is a warning in __ip6_append_data(): WARNING: CPU: 1 PID: 5042 at net/ipv6/ip6_output.c:1800 __ip6_append_data.isra.0+0x1be8/0x47f0 net/ipv6/ip6_output.c:1800 that occurs when MSG_SPLICE_PAGES is used to append more data to an already partially occupied skbuff. The warning occurs when 'copy' is larger than the amount of data in the message iterator. This is because the requested length includes the transport header length when it shouldn't. This can be triggered by, for example: sfd = socket(AF_INET6, SOCK_DGRAM, IPPROTO_L2TP); bind(sfd, ...); // ::1 connect(sfd, ...); // ::1 port 7 send(sfd, buffer, 4100, MSG_MORE); sendfile(sfd, dfd, NULL, 1024); Fix this by only adding transhdrlen into the length if the write queue is empty in l2tp_ip6_sendmsg(), analogously to how UDP does things. l2tp_ip_sendmsg() looks like it won't suffer from this problem as it builds the UDP packet itself. • https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/a32e0eec7042b21ccb52896cf715e3e2641fed93 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/7626b9fed53092aa2147978070e610ecb61af844 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/559d697c5d072593d22b3e0bd8b8081108aeaf59 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/1fc793d68d50dee4782ef2e808913d5dd880bcc6 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/96b2e1090397217839fcd6c9b6d8f5d439e705ed https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/cd1189956393bf850b2e275e37411855d3bd86bb https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/f6a7182179c0ed788e3755ee2ed18c888ddcc33f https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/fe80658c08e3001c80c5533cd41abfbb0 •

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: fix possible store tearing in neigh_periodic_work() While looking at a related syzbot report involving neigh_periodic_work(), I found that I forgot to add an annotation when deleting an RCU protected item from a list. Readers use rcu_deference(*np), we need to use either rcu_assign_pointer() or WRITE_ONCE() on writer side to prevent store tearing. I use rcu_assign_pointer() to have lockdep support, this was the choice made in neigh_flush_dev(). A flaw was found in the Linux kernel that allows for potential store tearing within the neigh_periodic_work() function, meaning a write operation on a value is not protected properly and could result in inconsistencies if another process or thread reads from that value before the operation is complete. • https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/767e97e1e0db0d0f3152cd2f3bd3403596aedbad https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/95eabb075a5902f4c0834ab1fb12dc35730c05af https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/2ea52a2fb8e87067e26bbab4efb8872639240eb0 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/147d89ee41434b97043c2dcb17a97dc151859baa https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/f82aac8162871e87027692b36af335a2375d4580 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/a75152d233370362eebedb2643592e7c883cc9fc https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/25563b581ba3a1f263a00e8c9a97f5e7363be6fd https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-52522 • CWE-20: Improper Input Validation •

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: spi: sun6i: fix race between DMA RX transfer completion and RX FIFO drain Previously the transfer complete IRQ immediately drained to RX FIFO to read any data remaining in FIFO to the RX buffer. This behaviour is correct when dealing with SPI in interrupt mode. However in DMA mode the transfer complete interrupt still fires as soon as all bytes to be transferred have been stored in the FIFO. At that point data in the FIFO still needs to be picked up by the DMA engine. Thus the drain procedure and DMA engine end up racing to read from RX FIFO, corrupting any data read. • https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/bd1ec7f9983b5cd3c77e0f7cda3fa8aed041af2f https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/36b29974a7ad2ff604c24ad348f940506c7b1209 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/4e149d524678431638ff378ef6025e4e89b71097 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/1f11f4202caf5710204d334fe63392052783876d •
