CVE-2017-18017 – kernel: netfilter: use-after-free in tcpmss_mangle_packet function in net/netfilter/xt_TCPMSS.c
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2017-18017
The tcpmss_mangle_packet function in net/netfilter/xt_TCPMSS.c in the Linux kernel before 4.11, and 4.9.x before 4.9.36, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (use-after-free and memory corruption) or possibly have unspecified other impact by leveraging the presence of xt_TCPMSS in an iptables action. Due to the nature of the flaw, privilege escalation cannot be fully ruled out, although we believe it is unlikely. • http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=2638fd0f92d4397884fd991d8f4925cb3f081901 http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2018-02/msg00008.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2018-02/msg00013.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2018-02/msg00015.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2018-02/msg00038.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2018-02/msg00047.html http://lists.opensuse.org • CWE-119: Improper Restriction of Operations within the Bounds of a Memory Buffer CWE-416: Use After Free •
CVE-2017-15129 – kernel: net: double-free and memory corruption in get_net_ns_by_id()
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2017-15129
A use-after-free vulnerability was found in network namespaces code affecting the Linux kernel before 4.14.11. The function get_net_ns_by_id() in net/core/net_namespace.c does not check for the net::count value after it has found a peer network in netns_ids idr, which could lead to double free and memory corruption. This vulnerability could allow an unprivileged local user to induce kernel memory corruption on the system, leading to a crash. Due to the nature of the flaw, privilege escalation cannot be fully ruled out, although it is thought to be unlikely. Se ha descubierto una vulnerabilidad en los nombres de espacio de red que afecta al kernel de Linux en versiones anteriores a la 4.14.11. • http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=21b5944350052d2583e82dd59b19a9ba94a007f0 http://seclists.org/oss-sec/2018/q1/7 http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/102485 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:0654 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:0676 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:1062 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:1946 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2017-15129 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi& • CWE-362: Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition') •
CVE-2016-4470 – kernel: Uninitialized variable in request_key handling causes kernel crash in error handling path
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2016-4470
The key_reject_and_link function in security/keys/key.c in the Linux kernel through 4.6.3 does not ensure that a certain data structure is initialized, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (system crash) via vectors involving a crafted keyctl request2 command. A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's keyring handling code: the key_reject_and_link() function could be forced to free an arbitrary memory block. An attacker could use this flaw to trigger a use-after-free condition on the system, potentially allowing for privilege escalation. • http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=38327424b40bcebe2de92d07312c89360ac9229a http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-08/msg00000.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-08/msg00003.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-08/msg00007.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-08/msg00008.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-08/msg00009.html http://lists.opensuse.org • CWE-253: Incorrect Check of Function Return Value •
CVE-2016-3707 – kernel-rt: Sending SysRq command via ICMP echo request
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2016-3707
The icmp_check_sysrq function in net/ipv4/icmp.c in the kernel.org projects/rt patches for the Linux kernel, as used in the kernel-rt package before 3.10.0-327.22.1 in Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Real Time 7 and other products, allows remote attackers to execute SysRq commands via crafted ICMP Echo Request packets, as demonstrated by a brute-force attack to discover a cookie, or an attack that occurs after reading the local icmp_echo_sysrq file. A flaw was found in the way the realtime kernel processed specially crafted ICMP echo requests. A remote attacker could use this flaw to trigger a sysrql function based on values in the ICMP packet, allowing them to remotely restart the system. Note that this feature is not enabled by default and requires elevated privileges to be configured. • http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-07/msg00005.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-08/msg00000.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2016-08/msg00007.html http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2016/05/17/1 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2016:1301 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2016:1341 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1327484 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2016-3707 • CWE-284: Improper Access Control CWE-312: Cleartext Storage of Sensitive Information •
