In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: stmmac: Disable Tx queues when reconfiguring the interface The Tx queues were not disabled in situations where the driver needed to stop the interface to apply a new configuration. This could result in a kernel panic when doing any of the 3 following actions: * reconfiguring the number of queues (ethtool -L) * reconfiguring the size of the ring buffers (ethtool -G) * installing/removing an XDP program (ip l set dev ethX xdp) Prevent the panic by making sure netif_tx_disable is called when stopping an interface. Without this patch, the following kernel panic can be observed when doing any of the actions above: Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address ffff80001238d040 [....] Call trace: dwmac4_set_addr+0x8/0x10 dev_hard_start_xmit+0xe4/0x1ac sch_direct_xmit+0xe8/0x39c __dev_queue_xmit+0x3ec/0xaf0 dev_queue_xmit+0x14/0x20 [...] In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ethtool: ioctl: fix potential NULL deref in ethtool_set_coalesce() ethtool_set_coalesce() now uses both the .get_coalesce() and .set_coalesce() callbacks. But the check for their availability is buggy, so changing the coalesce settings on a device where the driver provides only _one_ of the callbacks results in a NULL pointer dereference instead of an -EOPNOTSUPP. Fix the condition so that the availability of both callbacks is ensured. This also matches the netlink code. Note that reproducing this requires some effort - it only affects the legacy ioctl path, and needs a specific combination of driver options: - have .get_coalesce() and .coalesce_supported but no .set_coalesce(), or - have .set_coalesce() but no .get_coalesce(). Here eg. ethtool doesn't cause the crash as it first attempts to call ethtool_get_coalesce() and bails out on error. En el kernel de Linux, se resolvió la siguiente vulnerabilidad: ethtool: ioctl: corrige un posible deref NULL en ethtool_set_coalesce() ethtool_set_coalesce() ahora usa las devoluciones de llamada .get_coalesce() y .set_coalesce(). • https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/f3ccfda1931977b80267ba54070a1aeafa18f6ca https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/abfdd9e2f0f9699015d72317f74154d3e53664e6 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/0276af2176c78771da7f311621a25d7608045827 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2021-47556 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2283393 • CWE-476: NULL Pointer Dereference •

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched/scs: Reset task stack state in bringup_cpu() To hot unplug a CPU, the idle task on that CPU calls a few layers of C code before finally leaving the kernel. When KASAN is in use, poisoned shadow is left around for each of the active stack frames, and when shadow call stacks are in use. When shadow call stacks (SCS) are in use the task's saved SCS SP is left pointing at an arbitrary point within the task's shadow call stack. When a CPU is offlined than onlined back into the kernel, this stale state can adversely affect execution. Stale KASAN shadow can alias new stackframes and result in bogus KASAN warnings. A stale SCS SP is effectively a memory leak, and prevents a portion of the shadow call stack being used. • https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/3c51d82d0b7862d7d246016c74b4390fb1fa1f11 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/f1a0a376ca0c4ef1fc3d24e3e502acbb5b795674 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/1cb358b3ac1bb43aa8c4283830a84216dda65d39 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/24c79a7e54ccfa29fb8cbf7ed8d1e48ff1ec6e3d https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/e6ee7abd6bfe559ad9989004b34c320fd638c526 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/229c555260cb9c1ccdab861e16f0410f1718f302 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/dce1ca0525bfdc8a69a9343bc714fbc19a2f04b3 •
