CVE-2023-39189 – Kernel: netfilter: nftables out-of-bounds read in nf_osf_match_one()
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-39189
A flaw was found in the Netfilter subsystem in the Linux kernel. The nfnl_osf_add_callback function did not validate the user mode controlled opt_num field. This flaw allows a local privileged (CAP_NET_ADMIN) attacker to trigger an out-of-bounds read, leading to a crash or information disclosure. • https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:2394 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:2950 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:3138 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-39189 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2226777 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2024/01/msg00004.html • CWE-125: Out-of-bounds Read •
CVE-2023-42755 – Kernel: rsvp: out-of-bounds read in rsvp_classify()
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-42755
A flaw was found in the IPv4 Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP) classifier in the Linux kernel. The xprt pointer may go beyond the linear part of the skb, leading to an out-of-bounds read in the `rsvp_classify` function. This issue may allow a local user to crash the system and cause a denial of service. • https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:2950 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:3138 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-42755 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2239847 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2023/10/msg00027.html https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2024/01/msg00004.html https://seclists.org/oss-sec/2023/q3/229 • CWE-125: Out-of-bounds Read •
CVE-2023-42754 – Kernel: ipv4: null pointer dereference in ipv4_send_dest_unreach()
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-42754
A NULL pointer dereference flaw was found in the Linux kernel ipv4 stack. The socket buffer (skb) was assumed to be associated with a device before calling __ip_options_compile, which is not always the case if the skb is re-routed by ipvs. This issue may allow a local user with CAP_NET_ADMIN privileges to crash the system. • https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:2394 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:2950 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:3138 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-42754 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2239845 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2024/01/msg00004.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/GISYSL3F6WIEVGHJGLC2MFNTUXHPTKQH https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announc • CWE-476: NULL Pointer Dereference •
CVE-2023-5345 – Use-after-free in Linux kernel's fs/smb/client component
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-5345
A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's fs/smb/client component can be exploited to achieve local privilege escalation. In case of an error in smb3_fs_context_parse_param, ctx->password was freed but the field was not set to NULL which could lead to double free. We recommend upgrading past commit e6e43b8aa7cd3c3af686caf0c2e11819a886d705. A flaw was found in the SMB client component in the Linux kernel. • http://packetstormsecurity.com/files/177029/Kernel-Live-Patch-Security-Notice-LSN-0100-1.html https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=e6e43b8aa7cd3c3af686caf0c2e11819a886d705 https://kernel.dance/e6e43b8aa7cd3c3af686caf0c2e11819a886d705 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/GISYSL3F6WIEVGHJGLC2MFNTUXHPTKQH https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/GPMICQ2HVZO5UAM5KPXHAZKA2U3ZDOO6 https://lists.fedoraproject.org • CWE-416: Use After Free •
CVE-2023-44466 – kernel: buffer overflow in ceph file net/ceph/messenger_v2.c
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2023-44466
An issue was discovered in net/ceph/messenger_v2.c in the Linux kernel before 6.4.5. There is an integer signedness error, leading to a buffer overflow and remote code execution via HELLO or one of the AUTH frames. This occurs because of an untrusted length taken from a TCP packet in ceph_decode_32. • https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=a282a2f10539dce2aa619e71e1817570d557fc97 https://github.com/google/security-research/security/advisories/GHSA-jg27-jx6w-xwph https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/a282a2f10539dce2aa619e71e1817570d557fc97 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20231116-0003 https://www.spinics.net/lists/ceph-devel/msg57909.html https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-44466 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2241342 • CWE-119: Improper Restriction of Operations within the Bounds of a Memory Buffer CWE-120: Buffer Copy without Checking Size of Input ('Classic Buffer Overflow') •
