A crafted 16-bit grayscale PNG image may lead to a out-of-bounds write in the heap area. An attacker may take advantage of that to cause heap data corruption or eventually arbitrary code execution and circumvent secure boot protections. This issue has a high complexity to be exploited as an attacker needs to perform some triage over the heap layout to achieve signifcant results, also the values written into the memory are repeated three times in a row making difficult to produce valid payloads. This flaw affects grub2 versions prior grub-2.12. • https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1991685 https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202209-12 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20220930-0001 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2021-3695 • CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write •

A NULL pointer dereference issue was found in KVM when releasing a vCPU with dirty ring support enabled. This flaw allows an unprivileged local attacker on the host to issue specific ioctl calls, causing a kernel oops condition that results in a denial of service.

A vulnerability was found in CRI-O that causes memory or disk space exhaustion on the node for anyone with access to the Kube API. The ExecSync request runs commands in a container and logs the output of the command. This output is then read by CRI-O after command execution, and it is read in a manner where the entire file corresponding to the output of the command is read in. Thus, if the output of the command is large it is possible to exhaust the memory or the disk space of the node when CRI-O reads the output of the command. The highest threat from this vulnerability is system availability. • https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2085361 https://github.com/cri-o/cri-o/commit/f032cf649ecc7e0c46718bd9e7814bfb317cb544 https://github.com/cri-o/cri-o/security/advisories/GHSA-fcm2-6c3h-pg6j https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2022-1708 • CWE-400: Uncontrolled Resource Consumption CWE-770: Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling •

An access control bypass vulnerability found in 389-ds-base. That mishandling of the filter that would yield incorrect results, but as that has progressed, can be determined that it actually is an access control bypass. This may allow any remote unauthenticated user to issue a filter that allows searching for database items they do not have access to, including but not limited to potentially userPassword hashes and other sensitive data. • https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2091781 • CWE-639: Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key •

An out-of-bounds read flaw was found in the Linux kernel’s TeleTYpe subsystem. The issue occurs in how a user triggers a race condition using ioctls TIOCSPTLCK and TIOCGPTPEER and TIOCSTI and TCXONC with leakage of memory in the flush_to_ldisc function. This flaw allows a local user to crash the system or read unauthorized random data from memory. • https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2078466 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/10/msg00000.html https://seclists.org/oss-sec/2022/q2/155 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2022-1462 • CWE-362: Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition') CWE-366: Race Condition within a Thread •
