This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of Linux Kernel 5.11.15. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the handling of eBPF programs. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied eBPF programs prior to executing them. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of the kernel. • https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=10bf4e83167cc68595b85fd73bb91e8f2c086e36 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20210706-0003 https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-21-503 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2021-31440 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1964028 • CWE-682: Incorrect Calculation •

A race condition in Linux kernel SCTP sockets (net/sctp/socket.c) before 5.12-rc8 can lead to kernel privilege escalation from the context of a network service or an unprivileged process. If sctp_destroy_sock is called without sock_net(sk)->sctp.addr_wq_lock then an element is removed from the auto_asconf_splist list without any proper locking. This can be exploited by an attacker with network service privileges to escalate to root or from the context of an unprivileged user directly if a BPF_CGROUP_INET_SOCK_CREATE is attached which denies creation of some SCTP socket. • http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/05/10/1 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/05/10/2 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/05/10/3 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/05/10/4 https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=b166a20b07382b8bc1dcee2a448715c9c2c81b5b https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2021/06/msg00019.html https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2021/06/msg000 • CWE-362: Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition') •

An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel through 5.11.x. kernel/bpf/verifier.c performs undesirable out-of-bounds speculation on pointer arithmetic, leading to side-channel attacks that defeat Spectre mitigations and obtain sensitive information from kernel memory. Specifically, for sequences of pointer arithmetic operations, the pointer modification performed by the first operation is not correctly accounted for when restricting subsequent operations. • https://github.com/benschlueter/CVE-2021-29155 https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=073815b756c51ba9d8384d924c5d1c03ca3d1ae4 https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=24c109bb1537c12c02aeed2d51a347b4d6a9b76e https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=6f55b2f2a1178856c19bbce2f71449926e731914 https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=7fedb63a8307dda0ec3b8969a3b233a1dd7ea8e0 https://git.kernel& • CWE-125: Out-of-bounds Read •

An out-of-bounds (OOB) memory access flaw was found in fs/f2fs/node.c in the f2fs module in the Linux kernel in versions before 5.12.0-rc4. A bounds check failure allows a local attacker to gain access to out-of-bounds memory leading to a system crash or a leak of internal kernel information. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability. • http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/05/08/1 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1944298 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2021/06/msg00019.html https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20210611-0007 https://www.mail-archive.com/linux-kernel%40vger.kernel.org/msg2520013.html https://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/03/28/2 • CWE-125: Out-of-bounds Read •

An issue was discovered in the FUSE filesystem implementation in the Linux kernel before 5.10.6, aka CID-5d069dbe8aaf. fuse_do_getattr() calls make_bad_inode() in inappropriate situations, causing a system crash. NOTE: the original fix for this vulnerability was incomplete, and its incompleteness is tracked as CVE-2021-28950. A denial of service flaw was found in fuse_do_getattr in fs/fuse/dir.c in the kernel side of the FUSE filesystem in the Linux kernel. • https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v5.x/ChangeLog-5.10.6 https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=5d069dbe8aaf2a197142558b6fb2978189ba3454 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2021/06/msg00020.html https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/03/msg00012.html https://www.debian.org/security/2022/dsa-5096 https://www.starwindsoftware.com/security/sw-20220816-0001 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2020-36322 https:// • CWE-459: Incomplete Cleanup •
