An infinite loop vulnerability was found in Samba's mdssvc RPC service for Spotlight. When parsing Spotlight mdssvc RPC packets sent by the client, the core unmarshalling function sl_unpack_loop() did not validate a field in the network packet that contains the count of elements in an array-like structure. By passing 0 as the count value, the attacked function will run in an endless loop consuming 100% CPU. This flaw allows an attacker to issue a malformed RPC request, triggering an infinite loop, resulting in a denial of service condition. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of Samba. • https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:6667 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7139 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:0423 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:0580 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:4101 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-34966 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2222793 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/BPCSGND7LO467AJGR5DYBGZLTCGTOBCC https://lists.fedoraproje • CWE-835: Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition ('Infinite Loop') •

A vulnerability was found in Samba's SMB2 packet signing mechanism. The SMB2 packet signing is not enforced if an admin configured "server signing = required" or for SMB2 connections to Domain Controllers where SMB2 packet signing is mandatory. This flaw allows an attacker to perform attacks, such as a man-in-the-middle attack, by intercepting the network traffic and modifying the SMB2 messages between client and server, affecting the integrity of the data. • https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:4325 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:4328 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-3347 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2222792 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/BPCSGND7LO467AJGR5DYBGZLTCGTOBCC https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/OT74M42E6C36W7PQVY3OS4ZM7DVYB64Z https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20230731-0010 https://www • CWE-924: Improper Enforcement of Message Integrity During Transmission in a Communication Channel •

An out-of-bounds read vulnerability was found in Samba due to insufficient length checks in winbindd_pam_auth_crap.c. When performing NTLM authentication, the client replies to cryptographic challenges back to the server. These replies have variable lengths, and Winbind fails to check the lan manager response length. When Winbind is used for NTLM authentication, a maliciously crafted request can trigger an out-of-bounds read in Winbind, possibly resulting in a crash. • https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:6667 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7139 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:0423 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:0580 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2022-2127 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2222791 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2024/04/msg00015.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/BPCSGND7LO467AJGR5DYBGZLTCGTOBCC https:& • CWE-125: Out-of-bounds Read •

The PKCS#11 feature in ssh-agent in OpenSSH before 9.3p2 has an insufficiently trustworthy search path, leading to remote code execution if an agent is forwarded to an attacker-controlled system. (Code in /usr/lib is not necessarily safe for loading into ssh-agent.) NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2016-10009. • https://github.com/kali-mx/CVE-2023-38408 https://github.com/LucasPDiniz/CVE-2023-38408 https://github.com/classic130/CVE-2023-38408 https://github.com/mrtacojr/CVE-2023-38408 https://github.com/wxrdnx/CVE-2023-38408 http://packetstormsecurity.com/files/173661/OpenSSH-Forwarded-SSH-Agent-Remote-Code-Execution.html http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/07/20/1 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/07/20/2 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/ • CWE-94: Improper Control of Generation of Code ('Code Injection') CWE-428: Unquoted Search Path or Element •

A flaw was found in the keylime attestation verifier, which fails to flag a device's submitted TPM quote as faulty when the quote's signature does not validate for some reason. Instead, it will only emit an error in the log without flagging the device as untrusted. • https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2024:1139 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-3674 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2222903 https://github.com/keylime/keylime/commit/95ce3d86bd2c53009108ffda2dcf553312d733db • CWE-1283: Mutable Attestation or Measurement Reporting Data •
