CVE-2020-6805 – Mozilla: Use-after-free when removing data about origins
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2020-6805
When removing data about an origin whose tab was recently closed, a use-after-free could occur in the Quota manager, resulting in a potentially exploitable crash. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 68.6, Firefox < 74, Firefox < ESR68.6, and Firefox ESR < 68.6. Cuando se eliminan datos sobre un origen cuya pestaña se cerró recientemente, podría presentarse un uso de la memoria previamente liberada en el administrador de Quota, resultando en un bloqueo potencialmente explotable. Esta vulnerabilidad afecta a Thunderbird versiones anteriores a 68.6, Firefox versiones anteriores a 74, Firefox versiones anteriores a ESR68.6 y Firefox ESR versiones anteriores a 68.6. The Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory describes this flaw as: When removing data about an origin whose tab was recently closed, a use-after-free could occur in the Quota manager, resulting in a potentially exploitable crash. • https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1610880 https://usn.ubuntu.com/4328-1 https://usn.ubuntu.com/4335-1 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2020-08 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2020-09 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2020-10 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2020-6805 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1812199 • CWE-416: Use After Free •
CVE-2020-6811 – Mozilla: Devtools' 'Copy as cURL' feature did not fully escape website-controlled data, potentially leading to command injection
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2020-6811
The 'Copy as cURL' feature of Devtools' network tab did not properly escape the HTTP method of a request, which can be controlled by the website. If a user used the 'Copy as Curl' feature and pasted the command into a terminal, it could have resulted in command injection and arbitrary command execution. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 68.6, Firefox < 74, Firefox < ESR68.6, and Firefox ESR < 68.6. • https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1607742 https://usn.ubuntu.com/4328-1 https://usn.ubuntu.com/4335-1 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2020-08 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2020-09 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2020-10 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2020-6811 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1812202 • CWE-77: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in a Command ('Command Injection') CWE-78: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection') •
CVE-2020-6812 – Mozilla: The names of AirPods with personally identifiable information were exposed to websites with camera or microphone permission
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2020-6812
The first time AirPods are connected to an iPhone, they become named after the user's name by default (e.g. Jane Doe's AirPods.) Websites with camera or microphone permission are able to enumerate device names, disclosing the user's name. To resolve this issue, Firefox added a special case that renames devices containing the substring 'AirPods' to simply 'AirPods'. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 68.6, Firefox < 74, Firefox < ESR68.6, and Firefox ESR < 68.6. • https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1616661 https://usn.ubuntu.com/4328-1 https://usn.ubuntu.com/4335-1 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2020-08 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2020-09 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2020-10 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2020-6812 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1812204 • CWE-200: Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor •
CVE-2020-6798 – Mozilla: Incorrect parsing of template tag could result in JavaScript injection
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2020-6798
If a template tag was used in a select tag, the parser could be confused and allow JavaScript parsing and execution when it should not be allowed. A site that relied on the browser behaving correctly could suffer a cross-site scripting vulnerability as a result. In general, this flaw cannot be exploited through email in the Thunderbird product because scripting is disabled when reading mail, but is potentially a risk in browser or browser-like contexts. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 68.5, Firefox < 73, and Firefox < ESR68.5. Si se usó una etiqueta template en una etiqueta select, el analizador podría ser confundido y permitir el análisis y la ejecución de JavaScript cuando no debería ser permitido. • https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1602944 https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202003-02 https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202003-10 https://usn.ubuntu.com/4278-2 https://usn.ubuntu.com/4328-1 https://usn.ubuntu.com/4335-1 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2020-05 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2020-06 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2020-07 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2020-6798 https://bugzilla. • CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting') •
CVE-2020-6797
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2020-6797
By downloading a file with the .fileloc extension, a semi-privileged extension could launch an arbitrary application on the user's computer. The attacker is restricted as they are unable to download non-quarantined files or supply command line arguments to the application, limiting the impact. Note: this issue only occurs on Mac OSX. Other operating systems are unaffected. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 68.5, Firefox < 73, and Firefox < ESR68.5. • https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1596668 https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202003-02 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2020-05 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2020-06 https://www.mozilla.org/security/advisories/mfsa2020-07 • CWE-20: Improper Input Validation •
