CVE-2021-4083 – kernel: fget: check that the fd still exists after getting a ref to it
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-4083
A read-after-free memory flaw was found in the Linux kernel's garbage collection for Unix domain socket file handlers in the way users call close() and fget() simultaneously and can potentially trigger a race condition. This flaw allows a local user to crash the system or escalate their privileges on the system. This flaw affects Linux kernel versions prior to 5.16-rc4. • https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2029923 https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=054aa8d439b9 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/03/msg00011.html https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/03/msg00012.html https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20220217-0005 https://www.debian.org/security/2022/dsa-5096 https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpujul2022.html https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-202 • CWE-362: Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition') CWE-416: Use After Free •
CVE-2021-4001
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-4001
A race condition was found in the Linux kernel's ebpf verifier between bpf_map_update_elem and bpf_map_freeze due to a missing lock in kernel/bpf/syscall.c. In this flaw, a local user with a special privilege (cap_sys_admin or cap_bpf) can modify the frozen mapped address space. This flaw affects kernel versions prior to 5.16 rc2. • https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2025645 https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/bpf/bpf.git/commit/?id=353050be4c19e102178ccc05988101887c25ae53 • CWE-367: Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) Race Condition •
CVE-2021-4002 – kernel: possible leak or coruption of data residing on hugetlbfs
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-4002
A memory leak flaw in the Linux kernel's hugetlbfs memory usage was found in the way the user maps some regions of memory twice using shmget() which are aligned to PUD alignment with the fault of some of the memory pages. A local user could use this flaw to get unauthorized access to some data. CVE-2021-3743 – kernel: out-of-bound Read in qrtr_endpoint_post in net/qrtr/qrtr.c
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-3743
An out-of-bounds (OOB) memory read flaw was found in the Qualcomm IPC router protocol in the Linux kernel. A missing sanity check allows a local attacker to gain access to out-of-bounds memory, leading to a system crash or a leak of internal kernel information. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability. • https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1997961 https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net.git/commit/?id=7e78c597c3eb https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=7e78c597c3ebfd0cb329aa09a838734147e4f117 https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/7e78c597c3ebfd0cb329aa09a838734147e4f117 https://lists.openwall.net/netdev/2021/08/17/124 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20220407-0007 https://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/08/27 • CWE-125: Out-of-bounds Read •
CVE-2014-0069 – kernel: cifs: incorrect handling of bogus user pointers during uncached writes
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2014-0069
The cifs_iovec_write function in fs/cifs/file.c in the Linux kernel through 3.13.5 does not properly handle uncached write operations that copy fewer than the requested number of bytes, which allows local users to obtain sensitive information from kernel memory, cause a denial of service (memory corruption and system crash), or possibly gain privileges via a writev system call with a crafted pointer. • http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.kernel.cifs/9401 http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git%3Ba=commit%3Bh=5d81de8e8667da7135d3a32a964087c0faf5483f http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2014-03/msg00026.html http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2014-0328.html http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2014/02/17/4 http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/65588 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1064253 https://github.com/torvalds/linux/comm • CWE-119: Improper Restriction of Operations within the Bounds of a Memory Buffer •
