In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: netdevsim: don't try to destroy PHC on VFs PHC gets initialized in nsim_init_netdevsim(), which is only called if (nsim_dev_port_is_pf()). Create a counterpart of nsim_init_netdevsim() and move the mock_phc_destroy() there. This fixes a crash trying to destroy netdevsim with VFs instantiated, as caught by running the devlink.sh test: BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 00000000000000b8 RIP: 0010:mock_phc_destroy+0xd/0x30 Call Trace: <TASK> nsim_destroy+0x4a/0x70 [netdevsim] __nsim_dev_port_del+0x47/0x70 [netdevsim] nsim_dev_reload_destroy+0x105/0x120 [netdevsim] nsim_drv_remove+0x2f/0xb0 [netdevsim] device_release_driver_internal+0x1a1/0x210 bus_remove_device+0xd5/0x120 device_del+0x159/0x490 device_unregister+0x12/0x30 del_device_store+0x11a/0x1a0 [netdevsim] kernfs_fop_write_iter+0x130/0x1d0 vfs_write+0x30b/0x4b0 ksys_write+0x69/0xf0 do_syscall_64+0xcc/0x1e0 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x6f/0x77 En el kernel de Linux, se ha resuelto la siguiente vulnerabilidad: net: netdevsim: no intente destruir PHC en VF PHC se inicializa en nsim_init_netdevsim(), que sólo se llama si (nsim_dev_port_is_pf()). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mlxsw: spectrum_acl_tcam: Fix stack corruption When tc filters are first added to a net device, the corresponding local port gets bound to an ACL group in the device. The group contains a list of ACLs. In turn, each ACL points to a different TCAM region where the filters are stored. During forwarding, the ACLs are sequentially evaluated until a match is found. One reason to place filters in different regions is when they are added with decreasing priorities and in an alternating order so that two consecutive filters can never fit in the same region because of their key usage. In Spectrum-2 and newer ASICs the firmware started to report that the maximum number of ACLs in a group is more than 16, but the layout of the register that configures ACL groups (PAGT) was not updated to account for that. It is therefore possible to hit stack corruption [1] in the rare case where more than 16 ACLs in a group are required. Fix by limiting the maximum ACL group size to the minimum between what the firmware reports and the maximum ACLs that fit in the PAGT register. Add a test case to make sure the machine does not crash when this condition is hit. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: avoid crash when parsed profile name is empty When processing a packed profile in unpack_profile() described like "profile :ns::samba-dcerpcd /usr/lib*/samba/{,samba/}samba-dcerpcd {...}" a string ":samba-dcerpcd" is unpacked as a fully-qualified name and then passed to aa_splitn_fqname(). aa_splitn_fqname() treats ":samba-dcerpcd" as only containing a namespace. Thus it returns NULL for tmpname, meanwhile tmpns is non-NULL. Later aa_alloc_profile() crashes as the new profile name is NULL now. general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0xdffffc0000000000: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP KASAN NOPTI KASAN: null-ptr-deref in range [0x0000000000000000-0x0000000000000007] CPU: 6 PID: 1657 Comm: apparmor_parser Not tainted 6.7.0-rc2-dirty #16 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS rel-1.16.2-3-gd478f380-rebuilt.opensuse.org 04/01/2014 RIP: 0010:strlen+0x1e/0xa0 Call Trace: <TASK> ? strlen+0x1e/0xa0 aa_policy_init+0x1bb/0x230 aa_alloc_profile+0xb1/0x480 unpack_profile+0x3bc/0x4960 aa_unpack+0x309/0x15e0 aa_replace_profiles+0x213/0x33c0 policy_update+0x261/0x370 profile_replace+0x20e/0x2a0 vfs_write+0x2af/0xe00 ksys_write+0x126/0x250 do_syscall_64+0x46/0xf0 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x6e/0x76 </TASK> ---[ end trace 0000000000000000 ]--- RIP: 0010:strlen+0x1e/0xa0 It seems such behaviour of aa_splitn_fqname() is expected and checked in other places where it is called (e.g. aa_remove_profiles). Well, there is an explicit comment "a ns name without a following profile is allowed" inside. AFAICS, nothing can prevent unpacked "name" to be in form like ":samba-dcerpcd" - it is passed from userspace. Deny the whole profile set replacement in such case and inform user with EPROTO and an explaining message. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tls: fix race between tx work scheduling and socket close Similarly to previous commit, the submitting thread (recvmsg/sendmsg) may exit as soon as the async crypto handler calls complete(). Reorder scheduling the work before calling complete(). This seems more logical in the first place, as it's the inverse order of what the submitting thread will do. A race condition vulnerability was found in the tls subsystem of the Linux kernel. • https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/a42055e8d2c30d4decfc13ce943d09c7b9dad221 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/dd32621f19243f89ce830919496a5dcc2158aa33 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/196f198ca6fce04ba6ce262f5a0e4d567d7d219d https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6db22d6c7a6dc914b12c0469b94eb639b6a8a146 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/e327ed60bff4a991cd7a709c47c4f0c5b4a4fd57 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/e01e3934a1b2d122919f73bc6ddbe1cdafc4bbdb https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2024-26585 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2265517 • CWE-362: Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition') •
