CVE-2018-7081
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2018-7081
A remote code execution vulnerability is present in network-listening components in some versions of ArubaOS. An attacker with the ability to transmit specially-crafted IP traffic to a mobility controller could exploit this vulnerability and cause a process crash or to execute arbitrary code within the underlying operating system with full system privileges. Such an attack could lead to complete system compromise. The ability to transmit traffic to an IP interface on the mobility controller is required to carry out an attack. The attack leverages the PAPI protocol (UDP port 8211). • https://www.arubanetworks.com/assets/alert/ARUBA-PSA-2019-004.txt https://x-c3ll.github.io/posts/CVE-2018-7081-RCE-ArubaOS • CWE-20: Improper Input Validation •
CVE-2018-7080
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2018-7080
A vulnerability exists in the firmware of embedded BLE radios that are part of some Aruba Access points. An attacker who is able to exploit the vulnerability could install new, potentially malicious firmware into the AP's BLE radio and could then gain access to the AP's console port. This vulnerability is applicable only if the BLE radio has been enabled in affected access points. The BLE radio is disabled by default. Note - Aruba products are NOT affected by a similar vulnerability being tracked as CVE-2018-16986. • http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/105814 https://www.arubanetworks.com/assets/alert/ARUBA-PSA-2018-006.txt •
CVE-2017-9000
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2017-9000
ArubaOS, all versions prior to 6.3.1.25, 6.4 prior to 6.4.4.16, 6.5.x prior to 6.5.1.9, 6.5.2, 6.5.3 prior to 6.5.3.3, 6.5.4 prior to 6.5.4.2, 8.x prior to 8.1.0.4 FIPS and non-FIPS versions of software are both affected equally is vulnerable to unauthenticated arbitrary file access. An unauthenticated user with network access to an Aruba mobility controller on TCP port 8080 or 8081 may be able to access arbitrary files stored on the mobility controller. Ports 8080 and 8081 are used for captive portal functionality and are listening, by default, on all IP interfaces of the mobility controller, including captive portal interfaces. The attacker could access files which could contain passwords, keys, and other sensitive information that could lead to full system compromise. • http://www.arubanetworks.com/assets/alert/ARUBA-PSA-2017-006.txt http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1039580 • CWE-200: Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor •
CVE-2017-14491 – Dnsmasq < 2.78 - 2-byte Heap Overflow
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2017-14491
Heap-based buffer overflow in dnsmasq before 2.78 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) or execute arbitrary code via a crafted DNS response. A heap buffer overflow was found in dnsmasq in the code responsible for building DNS replies. An attacker could send crafted DNS packets to dnsmasq which would cause it to crash or, potentially, execute arbitrary code. Dnsmasq versions prior to 2.78 suffer from a 2-byte heap-based overflow vulnerability. • https://www.exploit-db.com/exploits/42941 https://github.com/skyformat99/dnsmasq-2.4.1-fix-CVE-2017-14491 http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2017-10/msg00003.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2017-10/msg00004.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2017-10/msg00005.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2017-10/msg00006.html http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4560 http://nvidia.custhelp.com/a • CWE-122: Heap-based Buffer Overflow CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write •
