libcurl provides the `CURLOPT_CERTINFO` option to allow applications torequest details to be returned about a server's certificate chain. A vulnerability was found in curl. This issue occurs due to an erroneous function. A malicious server could make curl within Network Security Services (NSS) get stuck in a never-ending busy loop when trying to retrieve that information. This flaw allows an Infinite Loop, affecting system availability. • https://hackerone.com/reports/1555441 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/08/msg00017.html https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202212-01 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20220609-0009 https://www.debian.org/security/2022/dsa-5197 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2022-27781 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2082204 • CWE-400: Uncontrolled Resource Consumption CWE-835: Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition ('Infinite Loop') •

The curl URL parser wrongly accepts percent-encoded URL separators like '/'when decoding the host name part of a URL, making it a *different* URL usingthe wrong host name when it is later retrieved. For example, a URL like `http://example.com%2F127.0.0.1/`, would be allowed bythe parser and get transposed into `http://example.com/127.0.0.1/`. This flawcan be used to circumvent filters, checks and more. An improper authentication vulnerability exists in curl 7.33.0 to and including 7.82.0 which might allow reuse OAUTH2-authenticated connections without properly making sure that the connection was authenticated with the same credentials as set for this transfer. This affects SASL-enabled protocols: SMPTP(S), IMAP(S), POP3(S) and LDAP(S) (openldap only). Esto afecta a los protocolos con SASL: SMPTP(S), IMAP(S), POP3(S) y LDAP(S) (sólo openldap) A vulnerability was found in curl. When curl >= 7.20.0 and <= 7.78.0 connects to an IMAP or POP3 server to retrieve data using STARTTLS to upgrade to TLS security, the server can respond and send back multiple responses at once that curl caches. curl would then upgrade to TLS but not flush the in-queue of cached responses but instead continue using and trustingthe responses it got *before* the TLS handshake as if they were authenticated.Using this flaw, it allows a Man-In-The-Middle attacker to first inject the fake responses, then pass-through the TLS traffic from the legitimate server and trick curl into sending data back to the user thinking the attacker's injected data comes from the TLS-protected server. A flaw was found in curl. The flaw lies in how curl handles cached or pipelined responses that it receives from either a IMAP, POP3, SMTP or FTP server before the TLS upgrade using STARTTLS. In such a scenario curl even after upgrading to TLS would trust these cached responses treating them as valid and authenticated and use them. • http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2022/Mar/29 https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-389290.pdf https://hackerone.com/reports/1334763 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2021/09/msg00022.html https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/08/msg00017.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/APOAK4X73EJTAPTSVT7IRVDMUWVXNWGD https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/RWLEC6YVEM2HWUBX67 • CWE-310: Cryptographic Issues CWE-319: Cleartext Transmission of Sensitive Information CWE-345: Insufficient Verification of Data Authenticity •

A user can tell curl >= 7.20.0 and <= 7.78.0 to require a successful upgrade to TLS when speaking to an IMAP, POP3 or FTP server (`--ssl-reqd` on the command line or`CURLOPT_USE_SSL` set to `CURLUSESSL_CONTROL` or `CURLUSESSL_ALL` withlibcurl). This requirement could be bypassed if the server would return a properly crafted but perfectly legitimate response. This flaw would then make curl silently continue its operations **withoutTLS** contrary to the instructions and expectations, exposing possibly sensitive data in clear text over the network. A flaw was found in curl. • http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2022/Mar/29 https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-389290.pdf https://hackerone.com/reports/1334111 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2021/09/msg00022.html https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/08/msg00017.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/APOAK4X73EJTAPTSVT7IRVDMUWVXNWGD https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/RWLEC6YVEM2HWUBX67 • CWE-319: Cleartext Transmission of Sensitive Information CWE-325: Missing Cryptographic Step •
