An off-by-one Error issue was discovered in Systemd in format_timespan() function of time-util.c. An attacker could supply specific values for time and accuracy that leads to buffer overrun in format_timespan(), leading to a Denial of Service. An off-by-one error flaw was found in systemd in the format_timespan() function of time-util.c. • https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2139327 https://github.com/systemd/systemd/commit/9102c625a673a3246d7e73d8737f3494446bad4e https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/23928 https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/23933 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2023/06/msg00036.html https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/RVBQC2VLSDVQAPJTEMTREXDL4HYLXG2P https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202305-15 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2022- • CWE-193: Off-by-one Error •

Fedora CoreOS supports setting a GRUB bootloader password using a Butane config. When this feature is enabled, GRUB requires a password to access the GRUB command-line, modify kernel command-line arguments, or boot non-default OSTree deployments. Recent Fedora CoreOS releases have a misconfiguration which allows booting non-default OSTree deployments without entering a password. This allows someone with access to the GRUB menu to boot into an older version of Fedora CoreOS, reverting any security fixes that have recently been applied to the machine. A password is still required to modify kernel command-line arguments and to access the GRUB command line. • https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora-coreos/grub-password https://github.com/coreos/fedora-coreos-tracker/issues/1333 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/coreos-status@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/NHUCNH5Y4UH5DPUCXISYXXVA563TLFEJ • CWE-20: Improper Input Validation CWE-306: Missing Authentication for Critical Function •

A flaw was found in Ansible in the amazon.aws collection when using the tower_callback parameter from the amazon.aws.ec2_instance module. This flaw allows an attacker to take advantage of this issue as the module is handling the parameter insecurely, leading to the password leaking in the logs. • https://github.com/ansible-collections/amazon.aws/pull/1199 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2023/12/msg00018.html • CWE-233: Improper Handling of Parameters •

The collection remote for pulp_ansible stores tokens in plaintext instead of using pulp's encrypted field and exposes them in read/write mode via the API () instead of marking it as write only. La colección remota para pulp_ansible almacena tokens en texto plano en lugar de usar el campo encriptado de pulp y los expone en modo de lectura/escritura por medio de la API () en lugar de marcarla como sólo de escritura A flaw exists in the collection remote for pulp_ansible, where tokens are stored in plaintext instead of using pulp's encrypted field. This flaw allows an attacker with sufficient privileges to read the stored tokens, resulting in the loss of confidentiality. • https://github.com/pulp/pulp_ansible/blob/main/pulp_ansible/app/models.py#L234 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2022-3644 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2131990 • CWE-256: Plaintext Storage of a Password CWE-522: Insufficiently Protected Credentials •
