Jonathan Looney discovered that the TCP retransmission queue implementation in tcp_fragment in the Linux kernel could be fragmented when handling certain TCP Selective Acknowledgment (SACK) sequences. A remote attacker could use this to cause a denial of service. This has been fixed in stable kernel releases 4.4.182, 4.9.182, 4.14.127, 4.19.52, 5.1.11, and is fixed in commit f070ef2ac66716357066b683fb0baf55f8191a2e. Jonathan Looney discovered that the Linux kernel default MSS is hard-coded to 48 bytes. This allows a remote peer to fragment TCP resend queues significantly more than if a larger MSS were enforced. A remote attacker could use this to cause a denial of service. This has been fixed in stable kernel releases 4.4.182, 4.9.182, 4.14.127, 4.19.52, 5.1.11, and is fixed in commits 967c05aee439e6e5d7d805e195b3a20ef5c433d6 and 5f3e2bf008c2221478101ee72f5cb4654b9fc363. Jonathan Looney descubrió que el tamaño máximo de segmento (MSS) por defecto del kernel de Linux está codificado a 48 bytes. • http://www.arubanetworks.com/assets/alert/ARUBA-PSA-2020-010.txt http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2019/06/28/2 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2019/07/06/3 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2019/07/06/4 http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/108818 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:1594 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:1602 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:1699 https://access.redhat.com/security/vulnerabili • CWE-400: Uncontrolled Resource Consumption CWE-405: Asymmetric Resource Consumption (Amplification) CWE-770: Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling •

In Wireshark 3.0.0 to 3.0.1, 2.6.0 to 2.6.8, and 2.4.0 to 2.4.14, the dissection engine could crash. This was addressed in epan/packet.c by restricting the number of layers and consequently limiting recursion. • http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/108464 https://bugs.wireshark.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=15778 https://code.wireshark.org/review/gitweb?p=wireshark.git%3Ba=commit%3Bh=7b6e197da4c497e229ed3ebf6952bae5c426a820 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2020/10/msg00036.html https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K06725231 https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K06725231?utm_source=f5support&amp%3Butm_medium=RSS https://usn.ubuntu.com/4133-1 https://www.wireshark.org/security/wnpa-sec-2019-19.html • CWE-674: Uncontrolled Recursion •

Versions of the Official Alpine Linux Docker images (since v3.3) contain a NULL password for the `root` user. This vulnerability appears to be the result of a regression introduced in December of 2015. Due to the nature of this issue, systems deployed using affected versions of the Alpine Linux container which utilize Linux PAM, or some other mechanism which uses the system shadow file as an authentication database, may accept a NULL password for the `root` user. Algunas versiones de las imágenes de Official Alpine Linux Docker (desde v3.3) contienen una contraseña NULL para el usuario `root`. Esta vulnerabilidad parece ser el resultado de una regresión introducida en diciembre de 2015. • http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2019-06/msg00004.html http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/108288 https://alpinelinux.org/posts/Docker-image-vulnerability-CVE-2019-5021.html https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20190510-0001 https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K25551452 https://talosintelligence.com/vulnerability_reports/TALOS-2019-0782 • CWE-258: Empty Password in Configuration File •

On BIG-IP 14.0.0-14.1.0.1, 13.0.0-13.1.1.4, and 12.1.0-12.1.4, the Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) may restart when a virtual server has an HTTP/2 profile with Application Layer Protocol Negotiation (ALPN) enabled and it processes traffic where the ALPN extension size is zero. • http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/108190 https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K94563344 •
