It was found that usage of snprintf function in feature/locks translator of glusterfs server 3.8.4, as shipped with Red Hat Gluster Storage, was vulnerable to a format string attack. A remote, authenticated attacker could use this flaw to cause remote denial of service. A flaw was found in glusterfs server through versions 4.1.4 and 3.1.2 which allowed repeated usage of GF_META_LOCK_KEY xattr. A remote, authenticated attacker could use this flaw to create multiple locks for single inode by using setxattr repetitively resulting in memory exhaustion of glusterfs server node. The Gluster file system through version 4.1.4 is vulnerable to abuse of the 'features/index' translator. A remote attacker with access to mount volumes could exploit this via the 'GF_XATTROP_ENTRY_IN_KEY' xattrop to create arbitrary, empty files on the target server. A flaw was found in the way glusterfs server handles client requests. • https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:3431 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:3432 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:3470 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=CVE-2018-14654 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2021/11/msg00000.html https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/201904-06 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2018-14654 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1631576 • CWE-22: Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') •

In the Linux kernel through 4.19, a use-after-free can occur due to a race condition between fanout_add from setsockopt and bind on an AF_PACKET socket. This issue exists because of the 15fe076edea787807a7cdc168df832544b58eba6 incomplete fix for a race condition. The code mishandles a certain multithreaded case involving a packet_do_bind unregister action followed by a packet_notifier register action. Later, packet_release operates on only one of the two applicable linked lists. The attacker can achieve Program Counter control. • https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2019:0327 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:0163 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:0188 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:1170 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:1190 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:3967 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:4159 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2020:0174 https://blogs.securiteam.com/index.php/archives/3731 https://access.redhat.com/security/ • CWE-362: Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition') CWE-416: Use After Free •
