Desbordamiento de búfer en la implementación de JavaScript en el componente XMLSerializer en Mozilla Firefox anterior a 18.0, Firefox ESR 10.x anterior a 10.0.12 y 17.x anterior a 17.0.2, Thunderbird anterior a 17.0.2, Thunderbird ESR 10.x anterior a 10.0.12 y 17.x anterior a 17.0.2, y SeaMonkey anterior a 2.15, permite a atacantes remotos ejecutar código arbitrario a través de una concatenación de caracteres manipulada, dirigiéndola a una asignación de memoria no válida y por lo tanto a un desbordamiento del búfer de memoria dinámica (heap).

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Mozilla Firefox. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the way Mozilla Firefox handles the concatenation of strings. By causing concatenation of specially crafted strings, an integer overflow may occur resulting in an undersized allocation. Subsequent use of this undersized memory allocation results in memory corruption, which may be exploited by an attacker to gain remote code execution.
