CVE-2021-22923 – curl: Metalink download sends credentials
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-22923
When curl is instructed to get content using the metalink feature, and a user name and password are used to download the metalink XML file, those same credentials are then subsequently passed on to each of the servers from which curl will download or try to download the contents from. Often contrary to the user's expectations and intentions and without telling the user it happened. A flaw was found in curl in the way curl handles credentials when downloading content using the Metalink feature. This flaw allows malicious actors controlling a hosting server to gain access to credentials provided while downloading content without the user's knowledge. • https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-389290.pdf https://hackerone.com/reports/1213181 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/FRUCW2UVNYUDZF72DQLFQR4PJEC6CF7V https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202212-01 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20210902-0003 https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpuoct2021.html https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2021-22923 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1981438 • CWE-319: Cleartext Transmission of Sensitive Information CWE-522: Insufficiently Protected Credentials •
CVE-2021-22924 – curl: Bad connection reuse due to flawed path name checks
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-22924
libcurl keeps previously used connections in a connection pool for subsequenttransfers to reuse, if one of them matches the setup.Due to errors in the logic, the config matching function did not take 'issuercert' into account and it compared the involved paths *case insensitively*,which could lead to libcurl reusing wrong connections.File paths are, or can be, case sensitive on many systems but not all, and caneven vary depending on used file systems. A flaw was found in libcurl in the way libcurl handles previously used connections without accounting for 'issuer cert' and comparing the involved paths case-insensitively. CVE-2021-22925 – curl: Incorrect fix for CVE-2021-22898 TELNET stack contents disclosure
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-22925
curl supports the `-t` command line option, known as `CURLOPT_TELNETOPTIONS`in libcurl. This rarely used option is used to send variable=content pairs toTELNET servers.Due to flaw in the option parser for sending `NEW_ENV` variables, libcurlcould be made to pass on uninitialized data from a stack based buffer to theserver. Therefore potentially revealing sensitive internal information to theserver using a clear-text network protocol. This could happen because curl did not call and use sscanf() correctly whenparsing the string provided by the application. curl soporta la opción de línea de comandos "-t", conocida como "CURLOPT_TELNETOPTIONS" en libcurl. • http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2021/Sep/39 http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2021/Sep/40 https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-389290.pdf https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-484086.pdf https://hackerone.com/reports/1223882 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/FRUCW2UVNYUDZF72DQLFQR4PJEC6CF7V https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202212-01 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20210902-0003 https://support.apple& • CWE-200: Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor CWE-908: Use of Uninitialized Resource •
CVE-2021-35942 – glibc: Arbitrary read in wordexp()
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-35942
The wordexp function in the GNU C Library (aka glibc) through 2.33 may crash or read arbitrary memory in parse_param (in posix/wordexp.c) when called with an untrusted, crafted pattern, potentially resulting in a denial of service or disclosure of information. This occurs because atoi was used but strtoul should have been used to ensure correct calculations. Esto ocurre porque atoi fue usado pero debería haber sido usado strtoul para asegurar cálculos correctos An integer overflow flaw was found in glibc that may result in reading of arbitrary memory when wordexp is used with a specially crafted untrusted regular expression input. • https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/10/msg00021.html https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202208-24 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20210827-0005 https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=28011 https://sourceware.org/git/?p=glibc.git%3Ba=commit%3Bh=5adda61f62b77384718b4c0d8336ade8f2b4b35c https://sourceware.org/glibc/wiki/Security%20Exceptions https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2021-35942 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1977975 • CWE-190: Integer Overflow or Wraparound •
CVE-2021-33910 – systemd: uncontrolled allocation on the stack in function unit_name_path_escape leads to crash
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2021-33910
basic/unit-name.c in systemd prior to 246.15, 247.8, 248.5, and 249.1 has a Memory Allocation with an Excessive Size Value (involving strdupa and alloca for a pathname controlled by a local attacker) that results in an operating system crash. basic/unit-name.c en systemd anterior a las versiones 246.15, 247.8, 248.5 y 249.1 tiene una asignación de memoria con un valor de tamaño excesivo (que involucra a strdupa y alloca para un nombre de ruta controlado por un atacante local) que resulta en una caída del sistema operativo A flaw was found in systemd. The use of alloca function with an uncontrolled size in function unit_name_path_escape allows a local attacker, able to mount a filesystem on a very long path, to crash systemd and the whole system by allocating a very large space in the stack.
