A flaw was found in glibc. When the getaddrinfo function is called with the AF_UNSPEC address family and the system is configured with no-aaaa mode via /etc/resolv.conf, a DNS response via TCP larger than 2048 bytes can potentially disclose stack contents through the function returned address data, and may cause a crash. • http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/09/25/1 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:5453 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:5455 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-4527 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2234712 https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/4DBUQRRPB47TC3NJOUIBVWUGFHBJAFDL https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/DFG4P76UHHZEWQ26FWBXG76N2QLKKPZA https: • CWE-121: Stack-based Buffer Overflow CWE-125: Out-of-bounds Read •

A flaw was found in glibc. In an uncommon situation, the gaih_inet function may use memory that has been freed, resulting in an application crash. This issue is only exploitable when the getaddrinfo function is called and the hosts database in /etc/nsswitch.conf is configured with SUCCESS=continue or SUCCESS=merge. Se encontró una falla en glibc. En una situación poco común, la función gaih_inet puede utilizar memoria que se ha liberado, lo que provoca un bloqueo de la aplicación. • http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/10/03/8 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:5453 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:5455 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2023:7409 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2023-4813 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2237798 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20231110-0003 • CWE-416: Use After Free •

end_pattern (called from internal_fnmatch) in the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) before 2.22 might allow context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash), as demonstrated by use of the fnmatch library function with the **(!() pattern. NOTE: this is not the same as CVE-2015-8984; also, some Linux distributions have fixed CVE-2015-8984 but have not fixed this additional fnmatch issue. • https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20230731-0009 https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=18036 • CWE-120: Buffer Copy without Checking Size of Input ('Classic Buffer Overflow') •

A vulnerability was found in GNU C Library 2.38. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects the function __monstartup of the file gmon.c of the component Call Graph Monitor. The manipulation leads to buffer overflow. It is recommended to apply a patch to fix this issue. • https://patchwork.sourceware.org/project/glibc/patch/20230204114138.5436-1-leo%40yuriev.ru https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=29444 https://vuldb.com/?ctiid.220246 https://vuldb.com/?id.220246 • CWE-120: Buffer Copy without Checking Size of Input ('Classic Buffer Overflow') •

A flaw was found in glibc. An off-by-one buffer overflow and underflow in getcwd() may lead to memory corruption when the size of the buffer is exactly 1. A local attacker who can control the input buffer and size passed to getcwd() in a setuid program could use this flaw to potentially execute arbitrary code and escalate their privileges on the system. Se ha encontrado un fallo en glibc. Un desbordamiento y subdesbordamiento de búfer en la función getcwd() puede conllevar a una corrupción de memoria cuando el tamaño del búfer es exactamente 1. • https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2021-3999 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2024637 https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/10/msg00021.html https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2021-3999 https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20221104-0001 https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=28769 https://sourceware.org/git/gitweb.cgi?p=glibc.git%3Bh=23e0e8f5f1fb5ed150253d986ecccdc90c2dcd5e https://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2022/01/24/4 • CWE-193: Off-by-one Error •
