CVE-2018-1336 – tomcat: A bug in the UTF-8 decoder can lead to DoS
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2018-1336
An improper handing of overflow in the UTF-8 decoder with supplementary characters can lead to an infinite loop in the decoder causing a Denial of Service. Versions Affected: Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M9 to 9.0.7, 8.5.0 to 8.5.30, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.51, and 7.0.28 to 7.0.86. • http://mail-archives.us.apache.org/mod_mbox/www-announce/201807.mbox/%3C20180722090435.GA60759%40minotaur.apache.org%3E http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/104898 http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1041375 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHEA-2018:2188 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHEA-2018:2189 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:2700 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:2701 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:2740 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-20 • CWE-835: Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition ('Infinite Loop') •
CVE-2018-8014 – tomcat: Insecure defaults in CORS filter enable 'supportsCredentials' for all origins
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2018-8014
The defaults settings for the CORS filter provided in Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.8, 8.5.0 to 8.5.31, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.52, 7.0.41 to 7.0.88 are insecure and enable 'supportsCredentials' for all origins. It is expected that users of the CORS filter will have configured it appropriately for their environment rather than using it in the default configuration. Therefore, it is expected that most users will not be impacted by this issue. • http://tomcat.apache.org/security-7.html http://tomcat.apache.org/security-8.html http://tomcat.apache.org/security-9.html http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/security-advisory/cpuoct2018-4428296.html http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/104203 http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1040998 http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1041888 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:2469 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:2470 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:3768 https://a • CWE-284: Improper Access Control CWE-1188: Initialization of a Resource with an Insecure Default •
CVE-2018-1304 – tomcat: Incorrect handling of empty string URL in security constraints can lead to unintended exposure of resources
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2018-1304
The URL pattern of "" (the empty string) which exactly maps to the context root was not correctly handled in Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.4, 8.5.0 to 8.5.27, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.49 and 7.0.0 to 7.0.84 when used as part of a security constraint definition. This caused the constraint to be ignored. It was, therefore, possible for unauthorised users to gain access to web application resources that should have been protected. Only security constraints with a URL pattern of the empty string were affected. • https://github.com/knqyf263/CVE-2018-1304 http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/security-advisory/cpujul2018-4258247.html http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/security-advisory/cpuoct2018-4428296.html http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/103170 http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1040427 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:0465 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:0466 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:1320 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:1447 https://access.redha • CWE-284: Improper Access Control •
CVE-2018-1305 – tomcat: Late application of security constraints can lead to resource exposure for unauthorised users
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2018-1305
Security constraints defined by annotations of Servlets in Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.4, 8.5.0 to 8.5.27, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.49 and 7.0.0 to 7.0.84 were only applied once a Servlet had been loaded. Because security constraints defined in this way apply to the URL pattern and any URLs below that point, it was possible - depending on the order Servlets were loaded - for some security constraints not to be applied. This could have exposed resources to users who were not authorised to access them. • https://github.com/Pa55w0rd/CVE-2018-1305 http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/security-advisory/cpujul2018-4258247.html http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/security-advisory/cpuoct2018-4428296.html http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/103144 http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1040428 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:0465 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:0466 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:1320 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:2939 https://access.redha • CWE-284: Improper Access Control •
CVE-2017-15698 – tomcat-native: Mishandling of client certificates can allow for OCSP check bypass
https://notcve.org/view.php?id=CVE-2017-15698
When parsing the AIA-Extension field of a client certificate, Apache Tomcat Native Connector 1.2.0 to 1.2.14 and 1.1.23 to 1.1.34 did not correctly handle fields longer than 127 bytes. The result of the parsing error was to skip the OCSP check. It was therefore possible for client certificates that should have been rejected (if the OCSP check had been made) to be accepted. Users not using OCSP checks are not affected by this vulnerability. • http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1040390 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:0465 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:0466 https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/6eb0a53e5827d97db1a05c736d01101fec21202a5b8fc77bb0eaaed8%40%3Cannounce.tomcat.apache.org%3E https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/ba661b0edd913b39ff129a32d855620dd861883ade05fd88a8ce517d%40%3Cdev.tomcat.apache.org%3E https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/f8e0814e11c7f21f42224b6de111cb3f5e5ab5c15b78924c516d4ec2%40%3Cdev.tomcat.apache.org%3E https://lists.apache.org/thread.html • CWE-295: Improper Certificate Validation CWE-299: Improper Check for Certificate Revocation •
